Berviller-en-Moselle ( German Berweiler ) is a French commune with 471 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). Berviller belongs to the Arrondissement Forbach-Boulay-Moselle and the Canton of Bouzonville .

The place is right on the border with Saarland on the heights of the Saargau . The neighboring German town is Berus .

Worth seeing

  • On the outskirts there is a replica of the Marian grotto of Lourdes . Every year on Assumption Day , after sunset, there is a procession of lights from the church to the grotto, with participants from all the surrounding areas - including from neighboring Saarland.
  • In 2005, the cross-border circular hiking trail Alter Grenzweg (French Chemin de la frontière ) was established, which connects Berviller with Berus and the Orannakapelle .
