Economy and Infrastructure

Hoste is a small community and has long been shaped by agriculture. Today there are still six farms in the community (including cattle breeding). Many of the houses are more recent and reflect the continued population growth in recent years. It is due to the two lakes in the municipality on the one hand and the convenient transport links to the large industrial parks in the area on the other.

National road 56 ( Saint-Avold - Sarralbe ) runs through Hoste . The Puttelange-aux-Lacs junction on the Paris-Strasbourg motorway is four kilometers from Hoste and the Farébersviller junction is seven kilometers away. The next train station is in the neighboring town of Loupershouse .
