Villing (German: Willingen ) is a French commune with 494 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). Villing is located in the Forbach-Boulay-Moselle arrondissement and belongs to the canton of Bouzonville .

Villing is located directly on the border with Germany . The next places on the German side are Ittersdorf and Felsberg . The villages Trois maisons and Bedem belong to the municipality of Villing .

history

Villing belonged to the Second Peace of Paris in 1815 up to the border convention between Prussia and France in 1829 to Prussia .

Villing was incorporated into Merten in 1974 and restored as a municipality in 1981.
