The municipality of Dalem is located in northern Lorraine, six kilometers west of the municipality of Überherrn in the Saarland . Neighboring communities of Dalem are Rémering in the northeast, Merten in the east, Falck in the southeast, Hargarten-aux-Mines in the south, Téterchen in the west and Tromborn in the northwest.
