Seingbouse (German Sengbusch ) is a French commune with 1822 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the Forbach-Boulay-Moselle arrondissement .
geography
The municipality of Seingbouse is located in the north of the historic Lorraine region , five kilometers from the German-French border and four kilometers south of Freyming-Merlebach .
history
The place was first mentioned in 1594 as Senghauss . Other spellings were Seingbuss (1595), Zanbouss (1606), Seinebouss (1684) and Sengbousse (18th century).
