Hargarten-aux-Mines ( German : Hargarten ) is a French commune with 1107 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2016 Lorraine ).

geography

The place is in the Warndt , seven kilometers south of Creutzwald and the German-French border.

history

The place was known as Hargada in 1179 and Hargarten les Faux in 1295 . In the 17th century there was a lead mine in the village.
