Vahl-Ebersing (1801 still with the spelling Ebersin ) is a French commune with 514 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the Arrondissement Forbach-Boulay-Moselle and the municipality association Saint-Avold Synergie .
geography
Vahl-Ebersing is located six kilometers southeast of the former mining town of Saint-Avold and about 15 kilometers from the Saarland border. The northern part of the 6.3 km² municipal area consists of forests and pastures, the southern part is characterized by arable land and built-up land. The terrain around the municipality, which is situated on a ridge, slopes down to the northeast and south to the source streams Ruisseau du Bischwald and L'Annelbach - both are tributaries of the German Nied .
Neighboring communities of Vahl-Ebersing are Altviller and Lachambre in the north, Biding in the east, Laning and Lixing-lès-Saint-Avold in the south and Lelling and Folschviller in the west.

Economy and Infrastructure
The inhabitants of Vahl-Ebersing live on small craft businesses or commute to the industrial plants around Saint-Avold. In addition, there are six farms in the municipality (grain cultivation, dairy farming, cattle breeding).
The D 22 trunk road from Dieuze to Saint-Avold leads past Vahl-Ebersing as a western bypass. The road D 24 connects the municipality with Barst on the national road 56 . The nearest train station is in nearby Saint-Avold on the Metz - Forbach line .
