Han-sur-Nied ( German Han an der Nied ) is a municipality with 258 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ).

geography

The municipality of Han-sur-Nied is located on the French Nied , about 26 kilometers east of Metz . The Metz- Morhange and Pont-à-Mousson - Saint-Avold highways intersect in the commune .

history

The place was first mentioned as Hans in 1239 and was occupied and annexed by France in 1552, which was recognized in the Peace of Westphalia in 1648 .

From 1871–1918 it was temporarily part of the German Empire again , but French remained the official and colloquial language.
