Tritteling-Redlach (German Trittelingen-Redlach , Lorraine Trittelingen-Rédlach ) is a French commune with 533 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ), about 34 km east of Metz .

history

First mentioned as Druteringa in 1121 . Then Truderinga (1180), Drutelinga (1544), Trutelingen / Trettelingen (1563), Tritteling-Redlach (1999).

The place has belonged to France since 1766. 1871–1918 it belonged to the German Reich , during the Nazi occupation 1940–44 the German authorities changed the place name to Trittlingen .

Until December 29, 1999, the official place name was simply Tritteling .

  • The village of Redlach to the west has been part of the Tritteling community since 1818.
  • 1810-1837 the neighboring village of Laudrefang was also incorporated.
