Rémering (German Reimeringen ) is a French commune with 436 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ).

geography

The place is in the north of the historic Lorraine region , three kilometers south of Villing and three kilometers from the German-French border.

history

The community was first mentioned in 1121 as Rimeringa . Other spellings were Remeringa (1179), Reimering (1793), Reimring (1801), Rémering-lès-Hargarten and Rémering (since 1993).
