The Clio Cup Bohemia was a German-Czech one-make cup or a motorsport racing series that was held from 2011 to 2013. The races took place as part of various series and events, including the DTM , Truck GP, World Touring Car Championship and the 24-hour race . The successor championship Clio Cup Central Europe starts in 2014.

history

The racing series was founded and organized by Renault Sport Germany and Krenek Motorsport. The cup was announced for only three years from 2011. In these three years a total of 71 racing drivers from 12 nations in 29 teams competed.

Technical regulations

Approved were Renault Clio vehicles built between 2006 and 2013 with bodywork - KIT Phase II, from 2013 onwards, according to the definition in the technical regulations of the CCB, the nomenclature, the repair manual and the technical bulletins arising during the 2013 season. A factory-installed fire extinguisher had to be installed in the vehicle, and the driver was responsible for maintenance. Only the new engine F4R 832 and the old engine F4R 830 should be used, the engine also had to be sealed. The minimum vehicle weight is 1060 kg and the minimum racing weight of 1140 kg plus driver. The transmission had to correspond to the current nomenclature in all points. The racing tires came from the manufacturer Dunlop .

Sporting regulations

The minimum age was 16 years. Drivers with a valid national A license from the ACCR or another national sports authority affiliated to the FIA were eligible to participate in all other events who are registered with the Clio Cup Bohemia Organization in accordance with the registration requirements and who have paid the registration fees. Guest starters were also admitted and were fully entitled to points. No guest starters were allowed to be admitted to the season finale, unless they registered for the Clio Cup Bohemia or started the season as a guest starter.

On the race weekend there was a 60-minute free practice, which is divided into two 30-minute sections. Then a 30-minute qualifying was driven, the starting grid is based on the qualifying. Two races of 30 minutes each were held. There was an exception in the 24-hour race, where only one race is held. The starting grid for the second race resulted from the result of the first, with the first five to ten drivers of the overall standings starting the second race in reverse order. Driver points have been awarded since the first season in 2011. From the 2012 season points were also awarded for Daltec Junior, Sparco Gentleman and Nation points. The races were usually started with a standing start.

Scoring

In the 2011 season, points were awarded for places 1 to 10 in the following order: (without the result being deleted):

In addition, 2 points were awarded for the fastest training time and 1 point for the fastest race lap.

Racetracks

From the first season 2011 to 2013 the following racetracks were driven: Hockenheimring , Slovakiaring , Nürburgring , Oschersleben , Most , Brno . In 2012 the Red Bull Ring and 2013 the EuroSpeedway were also driven.
