The Bischwald (Ruisseau du Bischwald), partly also Nied , is a 13-kilometer-long left tributary of the Nied Allemande in the French department of Moselle in the Grand Est region .
geography
course
The Bischwald rises in the Wustwiese at 268 m just a little northeast of the village of Grostenquin and northwest of Erstroff . After about 130 meters of overturned course to the northeast, the stream appears for the first time in a small pond in the middle of a field. He is now overturned again briefly, where he crosses the remaining half of the field.
It reaches the Dickheck corridor , which is characterized by fields, and flows through it, mostly without any fringing vegetation, but sometimes accompanied by a bush gallery, before it encounters the edge of the forest, which marks the municipal boundary to Freybouse . The Bischwald turns and flows for around 15 meters to the southeast, marking the border between Grostenquin in the west and Freybouse in the east, before changing course and flowing again to the northeast, entering the narrow but elongated forest area. As it crosses this from west to east, it forms the border between Freybouse and Erstroff for around 210 meters, after which it continues on the municipality of Freybouse.
After crossing the forest area, it encounters an agriculturally used area with still little vegetation on the banks. In the southern part of the village of Freybouse it turns to the north-northwest and shortly afterwards passes the village center on its western border. Only a little later, the stream changes its course to the northwest and initially marks the municipal boundary between Freybouse in the south and Frémestroff in the north, then that between Grostenquin and Frémestroff, where it is now partially accompanied by a lush tree gallery. At the Nonnenwaeldchen corridor near the slightly elevated Strunkenholz grove , it turns north-west and first forms the border between Grostenquin and Laning , and shortly afterwards that between Grostenquin and Lixing-lès-Saint-Avold .
The Bischwald reaches the Langwiese north of the Grostenquiner district of Erlenhof and after a short walk to the south-west it makes a larger curve, after which it continues to the north. On the right bank he passes the Spareviertel , a water-rich forest area, and on the left the site of the Grostenquin military airfield , from where the Nied de Bischwald flows in, which carries the water of the Étang de Bischwald . Now Bistroff in the west and Lixing-lès-Saint-Avold in the east are the bayside. Here he receives the water of the Spissertgraben from the right , while he turns again to the northwest. After the confluence of a short nameless stream near Weinacker , the municipality of Lixing-lès-Saint-Avold alternates with Lelling . It flows through a wetland south of the village of Lelling, crosses under the D24 and starts fishing around five kilometers from the left at the night pasture .
The brook now flows shortly to the west and forms the municipal boundary between Lelling in the north and Teting-sur-Nied in the south for around 50 meters , before it completely crosses the boundary at the Gebruchecken corridor . The Bischwald changes its course to north-north-west and finally flows under a small road bridge at 247 m between the villages of Teting-sur-Nied in the north-west and Lelling in the south-west from the left and east into the upper reaches of the Nied Allemande, which here with a mean discharge of 925 l / s only carries slightly more water.
