Maria Wachowiak

Maria Wachowiak (also Maria Wachowiak-Holoubek , in the German-speaking area Maria Wachowiak-Holonbeck ) (born August 5, 1938 in Warsaw ; † April 19, 2019 in Munich ) was a Polish actress and director .

After graduating from high school, she studied acting from 1956 to 1960. From 1970 to 1974 she studied directing at the Theater Academy in Warsaw .

Wachowiak has appeared in numerous television films and plays in Poland. She was also a lecturer at a drama school.

At times she was married to the actor and director Gustaw Holoubek and had a daughter with him.

In 1982 she moved to the Federal Republic of Germany. From 1983 to 1994 she worked as a director for the radio station Radio Free Europe .

Wachowiak was best known on German television for the television series Lindenstrasse , in which she played the role of "Wanda Winicki" from episode 418 to 696 between 1993 and 1999.
