In addition to 146 games (26 goals) for Lautern's first division team, he was also used in the FCK amateur team - following an injury. Christow scored 29 goals in the Bundesliga. From the 2004/05 season he played for VfL Wolfsburg , where the midfielder could be successfully used again as a player after a long period of absence due to his injury towards the end of the 2005/06 season. He missed the 2006/07 season almost entirely due to an injury, which meant that his contract with VfL 2007 was not extended.

Oddities

In the final of the DFB Cup 2002/03, the then Lauterer saw a red card and was banned from three cup games. Since Kaiserslautern failed in the first round of the cup in the following season, he was suspended for two more games at the beginning of the 2004/05 season. However, his new club VfL Wolfsburg was not aware of this, which used him in the first round of the cup against the amateurs of 1. FC Köln . The game, which Wolfsburg won 3-0, was then rated 2-0 for the Cologne amateurs.
