Marian Döhler

Marian Döhler (born February 26, 1957 in Berlin ) is a German political scientist .

Marian Döhler studied political science, sociology and administrative science at the Free University of Berlin and the University of Konstanz from 1979 to 1984 . From 1985 to 1987 he worked as an employee in Konstanz. In 1990 he received his doctorate there. From 1987 to 1989 he worked as a research assistant at the Berlin Science Center and from 1989 to 1993 at the Max Planck Institute for Social Research in Cologne. Döhler was a research assistant and lecturer at the University of Potsdam from 1993 to 2000 . In 2004/05 he was a substitute professor at the Humboldt University in Berlin . In 2005 he completed his habilitation for political and administrative science in Potsdam. From 2006 to 2008 Döhler taught as a professor of political science at the FernUniversität Hagen . Since April 2008 he has been Professor of Political Science at the University of Hanover . Döhler has been Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy there since May 2017. Furthermore, since May 2011 he has been the managing editor of the interdisciplinary journal der moderne Staat .

His main areas of work are administrative science , political field research , government organization, administrative theory and comparison.
