Marianne Bleeke-Ehret

Marianne Bleeke-Ehret (born May 25, 1933 in Herford ; † February 15, 2005 there ) was a German sculptor .

Life

Marianne Bleeke-Ehret was born as Marianne Störmer in Herford in 1933. After school, at her father's request, she completed an apprenticeship as a hairdresser and then did a commercial apprenticeship. At a very young age she married Wilhelm Bleeke, with whom she had three children.

She acquired her sculptural training at the Werkkunstschule Bielefeld and later at the Staatliche Werkkunstschule Berlin. After her artistic training, she worked as a freelance artist in her hometown of Herford . After divorcing her first husband, she married Friedrich Ehret in the mid-1980s. On February 19, 2005 she died after illness in Herford.

Bleeke-Ehret's complete oeuvre comprises around 2000 objects, many of which can be seen in public spaces and in buildings. These include mainly sculptures , but also small and large-format reliefs that are made in stone or bronze. The sculptures include the rascal in Herford, the salt boiler in Bad Salzuflen and Die kleine Nienburgerin in Nienburg / Weser .

In her later creative period, various bowls, silk paintings and abstract shapes made of wood were created. Her works have been shown at international exhibitions and in galleries, including in Belgium, Italy, Greece and in her hometown Herford.
