Marianne Ravenstein (* 1957 in Kerpen ) is a German communication scientist . Until February 2018 she was Vice Rector for Teaching and Student Affairs at the Westphalian Wilhelms University of Münster .

Life

From 1977 to 1986 Marianne Ravenstein studied journalism , communication science , sociology and history at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster. She completed her studies in 1986 with a doctorate on the topic of model testing cable communication: problem analysis for the 1st cable pilot project in Ludwigshafen / Vorderpfalz at the University of Münster. In 1989 she started working there as a research assistant and from 2001 to 2012 was Academic Director at the Institute for Communication Studies at the Westphalian Wilhelms University. From 1999 to 2006 she was also the university ’s women's representative . From 2012 to February 2018 she worked there as full-time Vice Rector for Teaching and Student Affairs and (renamed in 2016) for Studies and Teaching.
