Marianne Rein

Marianne Dora Rein (born January 2, 1911 in Genoa ; † between November 27, 1941 and March 26, 1942) was a German-speaking Jewish poet .

In 1917 she lost her father, who died after a serious illness, whereupon her mother moved with her to Würzburg , from where she came in the same year . Marianne Rein attended the Jewish elementary school in Würzburg and later entered into lively correspondence with the writer Jakob Picard. During National Socialism, she tried unsuccessfully to emigrate with her mother. From 1941 she worked in a Jewish retirement home. On November 27, 1941, she and her mother were deported to Riga and shot there.

Marianne Rein wrote poems and prose mainly from the field of natural poetry and also published individual works in the magazine “Der Morgen”, which was published by the Kulturbund Deutscher Juden .
