Marianne Schuller

Marianne Schuller (* 1945 ) is a German literary scholar .

Life

After studying medicine, literature, philosophy and art history at the Ruprecht-Karls-University in Heidelberg and the Free University of Berlin , Marianne Schuller began her career in Munich in 1984 on the subject of romance degrees. Doctorate on the early romantic problem of universality and fragment . She did research as an assistant at the Ruhr University in Bochum before she was offered a position as a literary scholar at the Philipps University of Marburg and then to the University of Hamburg .

In the 1980s and 1990s, Schuller worked as a dramaturge at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg and at the Theater am Goethe-Platz in Bremen as well as a guest dramaturge at the Free Volksbühne Berlin .

Marianne Schuller held a visiting professorship at the Leuphana University of Lüneburg from 2011 to 2016 . She also held visiting professorships at the following universities: HafenCity University Hamburg (2006–2008), Vanderbilt University in Nashville , Tennessee , USA (2005), University of Virginia (2001) and Indiana State University , Bloomington, Indiana (1999).

Marianne Schuller's research focuses on literature from the 18th to the 20th century, the history of knowledge, psychoanalysis , the connections between literature and theater, and gender studies .
