Marianne von Eschenburg

Marianne Elisabeth Amalie Franziska von Eschenburg (married Purtscher) (born April 18, 1856 in Vienna ; † October 28, 1937 there ) was an Austrian portrait and landscape painter, student of her uncle, the history, genre and fresco painter Karl von Blaas .

She studied painting in Paris with Emile Auguste Carolus-Duran , Henri Martin and Elisa Koch . From 1880 she worked as a portraitist and also painted landscapes. In 1885 she became one of the founders of the Vienna Writers' Association . In 1901 she became a member of the group " Eight Artists ".
