Marie-Ève Nault (born February 16, 1982 in Trois-Rivières , Québec ) is a former Canadian soccer player .
Career
Nault began playing soccer at the high school in her hometown, with which she won several regional championships. She received several awards and was at times the most successful goalscorer in her team. Also at the University of Tennessee she was one of the outstanding players, where she was the most valuable defender.
Shortly before her 22nd birthday on January 30, 2004, Nault made her first of 43 international matches at the four-nation tournament in China against China and then played a few more games in the national team. However, it was no longer used between 2005 and 2008. Only at the Cyprus Cup in 2009, which Canada lost in the final against England, was it reinstated and then established in the national team. In 2010 she won the Cyprus Cup with Canada and then the Gold Cup , which meant that the Canadians qualified directly for the 2011 World Cup, where they met host Germany in the opening game . In 2011 she was able to repeat the success at the Cyprus Cup. She was a member of the Canadian squad for the World Cup and was used in the opening game against Germany, her first World Cup game. But she was substituted in the second half because she had problems at 0-1 and in a few other situations. In the second game against France it was not used, only in the last - for the course of the tournament insignificant group game - it was used again, but was eliminated with Canada after three defeats in the preliminary round.
In 2015 she was appointed to the national team for the World Cup in her own country . After 71 internationals for the Canadian national team and 144 club games, she ended her playing career in February 2017.
