Marie-Charlotte Wasmuht (born December 3, 1906 in Düren ; † November 18, 1981 ) was a German CDU politician .

education and profession

After graduating from high school, Marie-Charlotte Wasmuht completed a medical degree. In 1932 she passed the medical state examination in Düsseldorf. In 1933 the license to practice medicine took place in Aachen . Wife and mother of four children; from 1946 she worked as a practicing doctor. In 1951 she received her doctorate from the Medical Academy in Düsseldorf . From 1953 to 1961 she was a managing board member of the State Medical Association of Westphalia. From 1954 on she acted as chairwoman of the Christian women's education organization Westfalen Lippe eV and as chairwoman of the Evangelical Working Group of the CDU. In 1949 and 1950 she played a key role in the re-establishment of the German Association of Women Academics and the German Association of Women Doctorsinvolved. From 1953 to 1957, Dr. Marie-Charlotte Wasmuht member of the board of the finance committee of the Medical Association Westphalia-Lippe and until 1961 member of the chamber assembly. 1. Church master in the presbytery of the Protestant parish of St. Peter in Dortmund-Hohensyburg. "The renovated St. Peter's Church in its city district was with her work" (obituary in Ruhr Nachrichten of November 20, 1981). Grave site in the Dortmund Syburg cemetery.

politics

Marie-Charlotte Wasmuht was a member of the Dortmund City Council from October 1952 to 1975 and from July 23, 1962 to July 25, 1970 a member of the 5th and 6th state parliaments of North Rhine-Westphalia, which she entered via the state list. Wasmuht was a member of the state parliament in the social and health committee and a deputy member in the culture and youth committee.

  • December 3, 1971 Awarded the Federal Cross of Merit, 1st class
  • December 8, 1975 Awarded the city plaque and the honorary title "Honorary Member of the City Council" for services to the city of Dortmund
  • On December 14, 1979, Günter Samtlebe , Lord Mayor, Dr. Marie-Charlotte Wasmuht expressed gratitude and appreciation for her work for the good of the city and its citizens in a certificate from the City Council of Dortmund for her work as a member of the district administration.

The residential street "Marie-Charlotte-Wasmuht-Strasse" in Dortmund-Brackel (Asseln) is posthumously named after her.
