Marie-Jeanette Ferch (born Steinle , born December 25, 1976 in Bavaria) is a German eventing rider and amateur polo player .

Life

Marie-Jeanette Ferch, daughter of a former active in eventing, comes from a Bavarian building contractor family. The family also breeds eventing sport horses in Cavertitz, Saxony .

Marie-Jeanette won the first equestrian competition in the saddle of a pony named Pedro - at the age of four. At the age of 12, she won the style terrain ride at the junior championships in Warendorf with a grade of 9.8. She was a member of the Bavarian Eventing squad and up to and including 2002, along with Andreas Dibowski , Bettina Hoy and Ingrid Klimke, a member of the German Federal Eventing Championship. In addition, she devoted herself to the training and performance of young horses.

In 2005 Marie-Jeanette Steinle married the German film actor Heino Ferch and took his last name. On November 10, 2008, Marie-Jeanette Ferch became the mother of a daughter and on November 4, 2013, the mother of a son.

In 1993 and 1994 she took part in the German Junior Championships, in 1994 she was 9th in the ranking. She took part in the European Junior Championships in 1993 and 1994 and took 6th place in 1994 (Gold Team). The German Young Rider Championships in 1995 saw her in 10th place in the ranking.

At the 1998 World Championships in Rome, she was the best German World Cup participant in 23rd place. Marie-Jeanette received the Bavarian State Ministry's plate of honor this year at the age of 22 as the youngest participant in the world championships. As a member of the German national team, she qualified for the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia. In 2001 Marie-Jeanette Steinle took part in the European Championships, at the German Championships in 2000 she finished 7th and in 2001 8th place.

In the national eventing list she was in 15th place in 2003 behind the first four Bettina Hoy, Andreas Dibowski, Michael Jung and Frank Ostholt .

In 2004 Marie-Jeanette Ferch switched from eventing to polo . Ferch and her husband Heino Ferch are members of the Landsberg-Ammersee polo club. Around Marie-Jeanette and Heino Ferch, a new focal point for playful youngsters in the sport of polo has formed on the Ammersee.

Between 2004 and 2008 she improved her official DPV handicap from −2 to ± 0, which she still has in 2017. In the 2007 season, a team from the Landsberg Polo Club, in which Marie-Jeanette Ferch was also involved, achieved overall victory for the first time in an official DPV tournament, the 3rd South German Polo Derby for the Nissan Cup. In the 2008 season she was named the best player of the tournament at the 6th Hypo Lichtenstein Snow Arena Polo World Cup.
