Marie-Luce Romanes
Marie-Luce Romanens (born January 19, 1973 ) is a Swiss orienteering and long-distance runner .
At the orienteering world championships in 1995 , she became the first Swiss woman to win the short-distance world championship. At the orienteering world championships in 1997 a bronze medal followed on the short distance and one with the relay.
She then concentrated on athletics and in 2000, finishing ninth in the Paris Marathon, achieved her best marathon time of 2:35:54 h. In the following year she won the Jungfrau Marathon with the current (as of 2012) course record of 3:21:04 h.
At the Orienteering World Championships in 2003 , she won her fourth medal in this competition with silver on the sprint course, but was injured on the long distance.
Due to persistent complaints, especially of the Achilles tendon , she soon retired from competitive sports.
