Marie-Luise Morawietz , née Dinies (born March 29, 1932 in Neustadt an der Weinstrasse ; † January 2, 2014 in Viersen ) was a German politician and member of the state parliament ( SPD ).

Life and work

After attending elementary school and secondary school with the completion of secondary school, she completed a commercial training and worked as an industrial clerk in various economic areas until 1983. This time was interrupted to raise children.

Morawietz was a member of the SPD since 1972. She was represented in numerous bodies of the SPD, B. in the SPD district executive committee Niederrhein. She was also a member of the Trade, Banking and Insurance Union since 1981 . Since the beginning of private local radio, she was also a member of the operator community of Welle Niederrhein, from which she left at the end of August 2013 for health reasons.

From May 30, 1985 to May 31, 1995 Morawietz was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia . She was elected directly in constituency 056 Viersen I. During her membership in the state parliament, she was chairman of the committee for women's policy, a full member of the legal committee and the committee for children, youth and family and a deputy member of the council of elders.

From 1975 to 1984 she was a member of the city ​​council of Viersen . She had been a member of the Viersen district council since 1984.

Honors

Morawietz was awarded the Order of Merit of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia on May 13, 1996 .
