Marie-Paule Belle

Marie-Paule Belle (born January 25, 1946 in Pont-Sainte-Maxence ) is a French singer.

Career

Her career began in 1969 after the daughter of a doctor recorded her first single for CBS in a winning television competition, the Chapeau de Radio Monte-Carlo. Another single for the BAM label followed. Her first LP was released in 1973 by Sonopress.

Until 1983 her career included countless concerts, including regularly with Bobino . She received the Charles Cros Prize. In 1974 she received the Grand prix de la Communauté des radios publiques de langue française in Spa . In 1975 she toured with Serge Lama . In 1976 she had her first very big success with the title La Parisienne , which earned her a gold record and was also covered in other languages.

In 1978 Marie Paule Belle played in the renowned Olympia concert hall , then in 1980 at the Théâtre des Variétés .

1983 concerts followed in Belgium. A section of professional difficulties followed during which her appearances are less frequent. In 1985 she played at the Théâtre de Ville, in 1987 she published a short autobiography called Je ne suis pas parisienne, ca me gene by Carrère-Lafon , and a book dedicated to her called Marie-Paule Belle, collection Poésie et chansons, no 57 .

In 1990 she composed a comic opera with Françoise Mallet-Joris , which is not performed.

In the following years she continued to perform regularly, especially in Paris. In 2001 she wrote and realized a stage show in homage to the French singer Barbara . 2007 starred in the film Parfum et suspicions by Bruno Druart. Also in 2007 she played the role of Ingrid in the TV series PJ . In 2008 another autobiography was published in collaboration with Alain Wodrascka, called ma vie.com , published by L'Archipel and a DVD.

In 2009 her discography comprised 11 singles, including various film scores and a record for children, twelve long-playing records, four CDs and a VOD recording. The recordings have been published by CBS, BAM, Sonopresse, Polydor, Adès, Carrère, AB Productions, Polygram, BMG, Olivi, Philips and Beny Music, among others. There are also three compilations (published by Readers Digest), which also contain otherwise unpublished material.
