Marie-Thérèse de Subligny

Marie-Thérèse Perdou de Subligny (* 1666 ; † 1735 ) was a French ballet dancer .

In 1688 she entered the Académie royale de musique , where she succeeded Mademoiselle de Lafontaine as prima ballerina . She held this position until 1707. She appeared mainly in operas Comédie-ballets by Jean-Baptiste Lully , André Campra , André Cardinal Destouches and Jean-Féry Rebel . Her dance partners included the most famous dancers of the era, including Claude Ballon . Louis Pécour created numerous choreographies for her , which Raoul-Auger Feuillet published.

Subligny is considered the first professional French dancer to perform in England (1702–1703).

She was the daughter of Adrien-Thomas Perdou de Subligny .
