Marie Kyselková

Marie Kyselková (born August 20, 1935 in Brno , † January 21, 2019 in Prague ) was a Czechoslovak actress .

Life

After graduating from high school in Brno, Kyselková trained as a nurse . She also appeared as a singer and dancer in various dance ensembles. She also worked as a mannequin at fashion shows and as a photo model in Prague . She was discovered at one of these events by the Czech director Jiří Sequens , who gave her a first minor role in his 1955 film Větrná hora .

Kyselková played at the Divadlo SK Neumanna (Neumann Theater, today Divadlo pod Palmovkou) in Prague's Libeň district as a stage actress. In 1957 she took on the role of Lída in the film The Bomb , directed by Jaroslav Balík . 1958 followed another smaller role in the film Sehnsucht by Vojtěch Jasný . She completed a successful audition with director Martin Frič and was then hired by him for an episode role in his next film. After the main actress originally intended for this project was canceled at short notice, Kyselková received the lead role of Princess Lada in the resulting Czechoslovak fairy tale film The Princess with the Golden Star in 1959 .

Marie Kyselková, who was expecting her first child at the time the film was shot, then retired into private life, was a housewife and mother. Kyselková was married twice. In her first marriage she married the actor Petr Haničinec . From this marriage came a son. She had two daughters from her second marriage. During her family days, almost until her official retirement, Kyselková worked at home for various companies and made small fabric items from felt . She later took on a part-time job as a housekeeper and porter in a Prague school.

Kyselková died on January 21, 2019. A few years before her death, she had health and psychological problems.
