Marie Odile Bonkoungou Balima

Marie Odile Bonkoungou (born December 15, 1961 as Marie Odile Balima) is a politician and diplomat of the Republic of Burkina Faso .

She is married and has two kids.

Studies

  • 1981–1985 Faculty of Law, University of Ouagadougou : Master of Business Law .
  • 1985–1987 École nationale d'administration et de magistrature (Burkina Faso), Ouagadougou: Diploma in Public Administration .
  • Graduated in Cycle A, General Administration Option from School of Law and National School of Administration and Judiciary.
  • Studied public administration and human resources at the Institut international d'administration publique in Paris.
  • Management training at the École nationale d'administration publique in Quebec .

Career

On April 1, 1987, she entered the civil service of Burkina Faso: From 1989 to 1990 she was director of career management in the Ministry of Public Service. From 1990 to 1992 she was a researcher and department head in the Ministry of Public Service. From 1992 to 1998 she was Director General of the Public Service. From 1998 to 2001 she was Inspector General of the Ministry of Public Service and Institutional Development Services. From 2000 to 2002 she was a member of the board of directors of the École normal supérieure de Koudougou (ENSK). From 2001 to 2002 she chaired the board of directors of the École Nationale de l'Administration et de la Magistrature . From 2005 to 2006 she was a ministerial member of the Conference of Ministers of Education for the French-speaking countries, Conférence des ministres de l'éducation des paysayantle français en partage (CONFEMEN). From 2005 to 2011 she was a ministerial member of the Association for the Development of Education in Africa . From 2009 to 2011 she was a ministerial member of the Board of Directors of the Education for All-Fast Track Initiative (EFA-FTI). From 2001 to 2002 she was Deputy Secretary General of the Government and the Council of Ministers. From 2002 to 2005 she was Secretary General of the Government and the Council of Ministers. From 2005 to 2011 she was Minister for Basic Education and Literacy. In 2011 she was Minister for National Education and Literacy.

She was accredited as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Burkina Faso on February 24, 2012 in Berlin , July 5, 2013 in Kiev and February 12, 2014 in Warsaw .
