Marie Schramm-Macdonald

Marie Schramm-Macdonald , nee Schwendy, married Netcke (born April 11, 1846 in Berlin , † February 7, 1908 in Dresden ) was a German writer. She also wrote under the pseudonyms "Fringilla" and "Max Troll".

Life

She was the daughter of the spinning mill owner Eduard Schwendy. The family moved to Dresden, where Marie Schwendy received her first acting and singing lessons. She married Franz Netcke, the technical director of the Dortmund Union . After his death she took acting lessons from Adele Peroni , Adolf Glaßbrenner's wife and Otto Lehfeld . After she married the writer Hugo Schramm-Macdonald in Dresden, she worked as a reciter and gave acting lessons. She has published poems, short stories and essays in various magazines. She was a co-founder of the Dresden women local group of the General German School Association. For her meritorious work she received the medal for art and science (Sachsen-Altenburg) from King Albert . She also received the medal “for loyalty to duty in war”.
