Mary figure

The Marian column in Dießen am Ammersee , a market town in the Upper Bavarian district of Landsberg am Lech , was built in 1900. The Marian column on Marienplatz is a protected architectural monument .

The stone Marian column was to commemorate the Franco-German War of 1870/71 . Presumably it was created by Vonspinn, a stonemason from Dießen .

The humble hands überkeuzende Virgin Mary stands on a fluted sandstone column with base and leaf capitals , which in turn is supported by a rectangular pedestal made of natural stone.
