Marian column (Schwifting)
The Marian column in Schwifting , a municipality in the Upper Bavarian district of Landsberg am Lech , was built in 1889 on the spot where a column with the image of the Hohenpeißenberg Mother of God had been erected since 1738 . The Marian column on the road to Landsberg am Lech is a protected monument .
Next to the sandstone column with the figure of a Madonna and Child, which was replaced by a replica in 2004, there was a so-called Mary's linden tree , around 280 years old , which was felled by a storm in 2005. The column facing the village stands on a rectangular base with an inscription tablet made of Carrara marble .
