Marija Alexandrovna Sotowa ( Russian Мария Александровна Зотова ; born January 7, 1984 in Russian SFSR , Soviet Union ) is a Russian ski jumper .

Career

Sotowa made her international debut on January 23, 2008 as part of the Ski Jumping Continental Cup . In jumping in Toblach , she just missed the points as 37th. Also in February in Breitenberg she was unsuccessful. It was not until September 2008 at the summer competition in Lillehammer that Sotowa achieved her first point win with rank 30.

It took a whole year until September 2009 until she was able to repeat this success on the same hill. In the second jumping she was even able to improve her performance with rank 28. In winter, as in the previous year, she missed the leap into the top of the world. In the 2010/11 season she managed to get into the points at the mat jumping in Bischofsgrün and Falun . In winter she succeeded for the first time in Ramsau am Dachstein . Despite the total of six points gained and thus rank 82 in the overall ranking, she was only able to get one starting place in the B-team in the following season. Before that she had reached the 38th place at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2011 in Oslo from the normal hill. It was her last international start so far.
