Marija Barkauskaitė

Marija Barkauskaitė (born September 1, 1942 in Šukiškiai , Kelmė Rajong municipality ) is a Lithuanian educator, professor and former politician, vice minister .

Life

After graduating from high school, she completed a diploma in pedagogy at the Šiaulių pedagoginis institutas in Šiauliai in 1963 . She graduated from the postgraduate and then his doctorate at the University of Tartu in Estonia . In 2000 she completed her habilitation in social sciences in Vilnius . From 2001 she taught as a professor. From 1963 to 1966 she worked in Kulautuva ( Kaunas Rajongemeinde ) and from 1966 to 1970 in Kaunas . From 1976 to 1990 she taught at the Vilniaus pedagoginis institutas (VPI). From 1990 to 1992 she headed the Education Department of the Vilnius Municipality Administration . In 1992 she was Vice Rector at the VPI and from 1993 to 1995 Deputy Minister for Culture and Education .
