Marina Sauter (born April 23, 1997 in Dillingen an der Donau ) is a German biathlete . She has been part of the customs ski team since August 2016 .

Life

Marina Sauter lives in Bächingen an der Brenz , far away from the German and international biathlon centers. As a child she was with her father Willi Sauter several times a spectator in the Chiemgau-Arena in Ruhpolding . At the summer sighting in the Biathlon Center in Dornstadt , she succeeded in entering the sport of biathlon in 2007. In 2013 she switched to the sports boarding school in Furtwangen and in 2016 passed the high school diploma at the Robert-Gerwig-Schule. She starts for the DAV Ulm.

successes

Marina Sauter started in 2016 for the first time at the Biathlon Junior World Championships in Cheile Grădiştei (Romania). In the first race she was the individual youth world champion. In the sprint of the world championships, she reached a 14th place, in the pursuit race that followed Sauter won the bronze medal. Due to her strong performances, she was already used in the junior division in the relay and reached 4th place together with Christin Maier and Janina Hettich .
