Marins Alves de Araújo Viana

Marins Alves de Araújo Viana , also called Vianinha (born May 10, 1909 in São Roque , São Paulo , † May 7, 1972 in São Paulo ) was a Brazilian football player.

The defender Vianinha probably comes from the ranks of the CA Paulista or the SC Corinthians Paulista .

Fernando Giudicelli , one of the first Brazilians to work as a professional football player in Europe and also to act as a player's agent, convinced Vianinha and goalkeeper Jaguaré Bezerra de Vasconcelos from Corinthians of the income opportunities in Italy during a stay in Brazil in 1935 . After the crossing, they learned about the Abyssinian War in Lisbon and, because of it, refrained from traveling on to Italy. But they were soon accepted by Sporting Lisbon . These three were the first Brazilians to join Sporting.

While Giudicelli, who moved on to Real Madrid , and Jaguaré, who subsequently enjoyed great success at Olympique Marseille , were soon to be found elsewhere, Vianinha stayed and won first the city and then the national championship with Sporting. On the second day of the second game of the Portuguese league on March 22, 1936, he was part of the Sportings team, which suffered a historic 1:10 defeat at FC Porto. He came to the club on 28 missions in which he scored a goal.

In the following season he followed in the footsteps of Giudicelli, who now played for the first division club FC Antibes in southern France. Under the name Viana , he played five league games for the Antibois and scored two goals.

Later in the year he returned to Portugal, where he became the first Brazilian in the history of FC Porto . He is considered one of the more important players in the team that won the Portuguese championship in 1936/37. The 3-2 final win over Sporting is reported to have successfully eliminated the capital's most dangerous attacker, Dados de Soeiro , who scored 208 goals in 219 games for Sporting. In addition, he made the 3-1 intermediate score with a penalty. In the 1938/39 season he won the league championship with Porto.
