Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Adventure ( Japanese : マ リ オ & ル イ ー ジ RPG3 !!! , Hepburn : Mario ando Ruīji Āru Pī Jī Surī !!! ) is a computer role-playing game developed by AlphaDream and published by Nintendo on February 11, 2009 in Japan, was released exclusively for the Nintendo DS on September 14, 2009 in North America, October 9, 2009 in Europe and October 22, 2009 in Australia . It is the third part of the Mario & Luigi series as well as the successor to Mario & Luigi: Together through time and the predecessor of Mario & Luigi: Dream Team Bros.

In Bowser's Adventure , all of the Toads (residents of the Mushroom Kingdom) contract metabowlie, a disease that, it turns out, was spread by Lugmilla's ex-henchman Krankfried. Bowser sells a vacuum mushroom under a false name, which Bowser uses to suck Mario , Luigi , Peach and many others into his body. In this RPG you play for the first time not only as Mario and Luigi, but also as Bowser, who, unwittingly dragging the heroes in his body, tries to stop Krankfried. Krankfried wants to get the "Dark Star", a thoroughly evil star that once fell from the sky and use it for his plans.
Remake
During a Nintendo Direct on January 11, 2018, a remake of the game for the Nintendo 3DS named Mario & Luigi: Bowser Adventure + Bowser Jrs Reise (Japanese: マ リ オ & ル イ ー ジ RPG3 !!! DX, Hepburn: Mario ando Ruīji Āru Pī Jī Surī !!! Derakkusu) announces. The game was released in Japan on December 27, 2018, in North America on January 11, 2019, in Europe on January 25, 2019 and a remake of the game for the Nintendo 3DS on January 26, 2019 in Australia .
This reworked version of the game has improved graphics and a new subplot called "Bowser Jr.'s Journey".
