Mario Biondi (* 28. January 1971 in Catania as Mario Ranno ) is an Italian soul singer .

Career

As the son of a Sicilian songwriter, he sang in various choirs as a child. After experience in theater and television, he moved to Reggio Emilia , where he performed with his own group Mario Bro, and finally to Parma . Together with Chicco Capiozzo and Michele Guidi, he recorded the album Whiskey a go-go in 2003 , before his debut album Handful of Soul was released in 2006 in collaboration with the High Five Quintet. With the single This Is What You Are in particular , the album achieved considerable sales success and topped the charts.

After participating in the tribute album for the late musician Alex Baroni , he made a guest appearance at the Sanremo Festival in 2007 . Together with the Duke Orchestra, Biondi released the double live album I Love You More in the same year . In 2008 he was heard with two songs on the new DVD edition of Aristocats . The following year he returned to the Sanremo Festival, where he (again as a guest) supported Karima (newcomer category) with her contribution Come in ogni ora . At the end of the year he released his next studio album If , and the live album Yes You a year later .

In 2010, Biondi acted as a voice actor for the animated film Rapunzel - New Feels . In 2011 the double album Due was released , on which a series of duets with Italian and international stars can be found. In 2013 the musician managed to jump to the top of the chart with his next studio album, Sun. At the end of the year he presented the Christmas album Mario Christmas , which was also a great success; In 2014 the new edition A Very Special Mario Christmas was released . In cooperation with u. a. Bernard Butler and Dee Dee Bridgewater , Biondi released the studio album Beyond in 2013 , which became his third number one album.

At the Sanremo Festival 2018 , Biondi entered the race for the first time and presented the song Rivederti .
