Mario Corti (* 16th November 1931 in Genoa , † 13. January 2020 ) is a former Italian footballer who his career for over Sampdoria and Catania in Serie A played.
Career
Corti came towards the end of the 1948/48 season for Sampdoria Genoa to his debut in Serie A. In 1950 he won the Torneo di Viareggio with the youth team of Sampdoria with a 2-1 win in the final over AS Roma . To three other league appearances it was enough for Corti only in the 1951/52 season and he then moved to Serie B for US Piombino . After just one year at Piombino, he joined the second division AC Monza Brianza in 1953 and completed 104 games for the club in the following four seasons.
In 1957, Corti moved to Catania Calcio , who made promotion to Serie A in 1960 under coach Carmelo Di Bella . From 1960 until his departure in 1964, the Libero was the captain of the Red-Blue . He then let his career end with the lower-class team of Paternò Calcio .
After his career he emigrated to Australia.
