Mario García Covalles (born June 1, 1967 in Chihuahua , Chihuahua ) is a former Mexican soccer player who mainly played in defensive midfield and after his active career took up a position as a soccer coach.

career

As a player, García was long under contract with Club Atlante , with whom he won the Mexican football championship in the 1992/93 season .

His coaching career also began at Club Atlante, where he worked as an assistant coach from 2004 to 2008 and in this capacity was once again able to enjoy a championship title with the Potros at Apertura 2007 .

In the summer of 2008 he moved to Club León , where he made his debut as head coach. He then looked after the Atlante farm teams playing in the second division, Potros Chetumal and Atlante UTN , before returning to the main club Atlante as an assistant coach. He later coached the Estudiantes de Altamira and currently (2015/16) the third division team of Tampico-Madero FC in two stages .
