Mario Garriba

Mario Garriba (born November 13, 1944 in Soave , † December 31, 2013 in Florence ) was an Italian actor , film director and screenwriter .

Life

Garriba studied at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia and worked from 1971 to 1976 as an assistant director for numerous productions. He was also seen in a large number of small and very small roles - as a contract actor with the CSC, he was often only booked for tax reasons. In 1971 he shot the experimental In punto di morte as a director based on his own book (the short Voce del verbo morire had already been written the year before ), which won awards at the Venice and Locarno festivals , but hardly ever received any cinema screenings. A second film under Garribas direction was made in 1979. Corse a perdicuore with Andy Luotto in the leading role was also not a commercial success. In the 1980s Garriba was seen performing some substantial roles a. a. with Nanni Moretti and as an occasional screenwriter.
