Andy Luotto (actually André Paul Luotto ; born July 30, 1950 in Brooklyn , New York City ) is an American - Italian comedian , actor and television presenter .

Life

Luotto, who was born in the USA and also studied film studies there at Boston University , but has now taken on the Italian citizenship, has appeared in comic roles since the late 1970s. His engagement with the television program L'altra Domenica , in which he played one of the central characters alongside Roberto Benigni and Maurizio Nichetti as a strange American cousin, first attracted attention .

Luotto started out in the film business in the United States, where he was responsible for dubbing a number of Italian actors. After moving to Italy, his first television success and a number of successful cinema roles, although he also appeared in undemanding films, he returned to the small screen in 1985: Also based on an idea by Renzo Arbore , it could be seen in Quelli della notte .
