Mario Krassnitzer (born July 25, 1975 in Klagenfurt ) is an Austrian football goalkeeper . He is currently the goalkeeping coach of the Carinthian Football Academy and the ÖFB U-17 national team of Austria.

Krassnitzer started his career at SK Austria Klagenfurt before moving to LASK via SV Spittal an der Drau in 1995 , where he also made his debut in the top Austrian league. After two years in Linz , he went to the GAK , where he played nine games in the Bundesliga. After half a year with city rivals SK Sturm Graz , where he was not used as a substitute goalkeeper, he went to SC Austria Lustenau in Ländle . After relegation from the Bundesliga in the first year, he stayed with the Lustenauers until 2004. That year he moved to SCR Altach , where he made it to the Bundesliga in 2006 and was voted Vorarlberg's Footballer of the Year . In January 2009 Krassnitzer moved back to SC Austria Lustenau.
Dismissal as a regular goalkeeper
For the 2007/08 season, SCR Altach signed Andreas Michl from FC Blau-Weiß Linz and made him the new regular goalkeeper. Krassnitzer was only left with a place on the substitute bench , which he was so angry about in the press that he was fined by the club for behavior that was harmful to the club. Regardless of the resulting differences with coach and club management, he still made 14 appearances in the goal of SCR Altach by the winter break of the season. In the summer of 2010 Krassnitzer moved to SK Treibach in the Carinthia regional league .
