Mario Pérez Zúñiga (born June 17, 1982 in Mexico City ) is a Mexican football player on the position of defender .

career

Pérez Zúñiga began his professional career at Club Necaxa , which was then still based in the capital , where he was under contract from 2000 to 2004. For the 2004/05 season he moved to city ​​rivals Club America , with whom he won the Mexican football championship in 2005 in Clausura .

Then Pérez returned to Club Necaxa, where he was initially under contract from 2005 to 2007 and later two more times (2008/09 and 2012 to 2014). In between, he played for the two clubs in Mexico's second largest metropolitan area, Guadalajara, Atlas (2009/10) and Estudiantes Tecos (2011/12), as well as the NASL playing Atlanta Silverbacks (2011). Pérez Zúñiga has played in the second Mexican division for the Lobos de la BUAP since 2014 .

Between 2003 and 2006 Pérez Zúñiga completed nine international appearances (no goal) for the Mexican national soccer team .
