Mario Sammarco (born December 13, 1868 in Palermo , † January 24, 1930 in Milan ) was an Italian singer (baritone).

Sammarco studied singing with Antonio Cantelli in Palermo and made his debut there in 1888 as Valentine in Gounod's Faust . In 1894 he appeared at the Teatro Dal Verme in Milan in Puccini's Le Villi . In the same year he made his debut at La Scala in Milan , where he sang Carlo Gérard and the world premiere of Umberto Giordano's opera Andrea Chénier two years later . at the premiere of Lencavallos Zazà in 1900 at the Teatro Lirico in Milan he sang Cascart. He also took part in the world premiere of Alberto Franchettis ' Germania (1902, under the direction of Arturo Toscanini ) and Victor Herbert's Natoma (1911 in Philadelphia).

From 1904 he appeared frequently at the Covent Garden Opera in London. Between 1908 and 1913 he traveled to the USA several times and made guest appearances at the opera houses in Manhattan, Chicago and Philadelphia. His repertoire included roles from Verdi's operas and baritone roles from verismo operas . In 1919 Sammarco retired from the opera stage.
