Career

Mario Zuenelli, who was elected to the GAK Elf of the Century in 2002, is still one of the most popular players in the Grazer AK . He is fondly remembered for his offensive actions and shooting skills.

Left-footed Zuenelli began his professional career in 1973 with the GAK, for which he would also play for the next 13 years. In the 1973/74 season he was still in the National League for his first three missions in the combat team. After the forced relegation in 1974, he was one of the hopeful talents of the team, which immediately managed to get promoted again by winning the title in the new second-rate national league . In September 1975 he scored the 100th derby goal in the top division in front of 18,000 spectators in the Liebenau stadium .

In 1980 Vienna Austria offered a high transfer fee for Graz, who decided to continue playing for GAK. In the same year he completed two international matches for the Austrian national team in Karl Stotz's team boss era . 1981 followed with the ÖFB Cup victory against SV Austria Salzburg (0: 1, 2: 0 nV) the greatest success with the Grazer Rotjacken, followed in the following season a respectable third place in the championship. In 1986 Zuenelli moved after 343 missions and 69 goals in the top division then to the 2nd division for SV Flavia Solva Wagna , to later play for numerous lower house clubs.
