Maritta Politz
Maritta Politz (born May 18, 1950 in Mosigkau ), married Maritta Cierpinski , is a former German middle -distance runner who specialized in the 800-meter distance and started for the GDR .
In 1972 she was eliminated from the Olympic Games in Munich . At the European Athletics Indoor Championships in 1973 in Rotterdam she was fifth.
In 1972 she was runner-up in the GDR. In the hall she was GDR champion in 1972 and runner-up in 1973.
Maritta Politz started for the SC Chemie Halle . In 1973 she married the later Olympic marathon champion Waldemar Cierpinski . Their son Falk Cierpinski is also active as a marathon runner.
