Marius Liebald (born August 3, 1990 in Darmstadt ) is a German handball player .

Career

Liebald began playing handball at the South Hessian SV 1946 Crumstadt at the age of seven . In 2007 Liebald moved to TV Kirchzell at the age of 16 . In the following two seasons, the playmaker, who is considered to be strong in defense, played both for the men's team in the 3rd division and for the youth team, which he led in 2009 as captain to the German runner-up. In 2010 Liebald signed a contract with TV Großwallstadt in the 1st handball league , which he was to extend for two years a year later. In May 2012, the middle man, who is 1.88 meters tall and weighs 95 kilograms, seriously injured himself on his right throw shoulder, which had already caused him problems for some time. Due to the consequences of the subsequent operation and a new tendon rupture in the same shoulder in March 2013, Liebald was forced to retire from active professional sports at the age of 22. In April 2014 Liebald made his comeback at the second division TV Hüttenberg , where he received a contract until the end of the season.

In 2010 Liebald began studying economics at the Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main , which he successfully completed in March 2014.
