history

The Marius Tilly Band has existed since autumn 2009. Both bassist Benjamin Oppermann and drummer Maximilian Wastl are still permanent members of the band. The three young musicians all come from the Unna / Dortmund area , where the band recorded their first musical successes. In January 2010 the band was allowed to appear in the support act of the Blues Company , followed by club appearances throughout Germany and the release of two EPs. In addition, the band emerged victorious from the local band competition "Ruhrtour Live".

With the debut album Blue Colors Red Lights , released in 2012 , the band was able to expand its level of awareness nationwide and make a name for itself in the German blues scene. The band members now live scattered in Hanover and Bonn . Current musical influences include: a. Jimi Hendrix , Led Zeppelin , but also current bands like the Black Keys or the Rival Sons .

The next studio recordings for the second album began in early 2014. In the same year the Marius Tilly Band was voted the best German newcomer at the “Global Battle of the Bands”. Shortly afterwards, in January 2015, the German Blues Network sent the trio to Memphis (Tennessee, USA) to represent German blues rock at the International Blues Challenge .
