Mariusz Piekarski (born March 22, 1975 in Białystok ) is a former Polish football player .
Club career
Midfielder Mariusz Piekarski played for Jagiellonia Białystok , Polonia Gdańsk , Zagłębie Lubin and KP Legia Warsaw during his career in Poland . From 1996 to 1998 he played, unusual for a Pole, in Brazil with Athletico Paranaense , Flamengo Rio de Janeiro and Mogi Mirim EC . It was here that he met his future wife, TV presenter Kelley Vieira . After returning to Europe , he played for SC Bastia in France and for Anorthosis Famagusta in Cyprus . In 2003, Piekarski ended his professional career at the age of only 28. Because of his dissolute lifestyle, he could never really take advantage of his great talent. Piekarski has been a football manager since the beginning of 2009.
National team
He played a game for Poland in 1998 (4-0 against Paraguay ) and then also in 2002 (2-1 against the Faroe Islands ). It was his only two missions for his home country.
